On the night of 24th February 2007, when the snow was still thick, yet the Cultural Hall of CSMU was full with hundreds of people, from Russian, Malaysians, Indians, and other nationalities.

It was the first Chinese New Year Concert held by MCA Overseas Club Ukraine. The event started at around 6.30pm, with the speeches followed by the opening ceremony that was launched by Pro-rector of CSMU, A. D. Sakhaltuyev, by finishing the final stroke of calligraphy for the word “?” (meaning spring).

The concert was given great compliments for its fabulous programmes, counting from the Chinese Martial Arts, traditional dance, singing, Band Lada Putih, modern dance to the musical sketch which depicted the life of a young girl from China in Peninsula Malaya.

A total of 10 prizes were given out to the lucky winners of the night. Prizes for the winners of chess competition (MCA Overseas Club Ukraine and MSC) were delivered too.

Packets of Chinese food were given to everyone who attended the concert. The event was memorable and successful, fully expressing the theme of the night “????” (a union of all good things and people).
